JV Bandit's alleged return part of recession ready metro-area bank-robbing threepeat

JV Bandit?
The number of bank robberies in these parts may not be the most accurate gauge of the continuing economic funk, but it'll do in a pinch, as evidenced by not one, not two, but three new heists.

First up is the JV Bandit, who first made headlines in July before allegedly hitting another bank earlier this month. His latest suspected job took place in Wheat Ridge, as did another robbery, with the third happening on 17th Street. Page down below to learn about all three, and see photos of suspects:

The Wheat Ridge Police Department and FBI Rocky Mountain Safe Streets Task Force (RMSSTF) responded to a bank robbery which occurred on

Saturday, August 28, 2010 at approximately 12:05 p.m. at the

Chase Bank
3850 Wadsworth Blvd.
Wheat Ridge, Colorado

The suspect is described as a white male, late 20's, approximately 5'5"

The suspect is believed to be the JV Bandit.

The suspect presented a note and demanded money.

Bank robbery is punishable by a 20 year prison sentence for each offense and increases if a dangerous weapon is used in the commission of the crime.

The FBI continues to provide financial institutions with the best practices for security to make them less vulnerable to robberies.
