Medical marijuana art revolt greeted with "daggers" from "creepers" in Haxtun

• Our goal is to exist within the larger culture, maintaining our alliances so as to minimize our political exposure as an all too often dismissed minority group. We want to be ourselves without causing disharmony. Eventually we will be accepted but not until we put the larger cultural mind at ease. Cannabis is not here to steal your children, but it certainly will help sick people and allow others to enhance their lives immeasurably. Who wouldn't want that?

• I'm a little shocked that as educated as you are, you can't understand why people that have lived in a town their ENTIRE lives might slow down to read some useless garbage someone that's been there 5 minutes scribbles on their walls. Hey! Here's an idea! Try getting to know the people; go to games, get involved in the community, do something nice for your neighbors... if people get to know YOU and not some crap you paint on your walls or a video you put online you might have a better chance at empathy. Or, you can hold some sort of "revolt" and paint someone elses words on your building (real original btw), sneer at and mock the people coming by to read them, tape them from the corner of the window and then blast it all over the internet without their knowledge. I'm sure that is a great way to introduce yourself to a community as well...

• Really? That is not ART. Should you have created ART, you may have had a different response. I'm all for medicinal cannabis, but this is pretty tacky. Don't call yourself an artist, you didn't do anything artistic. My roots run deep in Haxtun and I love the people - don't call someone a creeper because they slow down to see the eyesore you created.

• Angela, If your issue is getting your Medical Marijuana, and Haxtun is not convenient for that...why are you not focusing on a way to accomplish that? It seems like You Tube is your focus. I also believe that the people in Haxtun have rights too. You have the right to free speech but so do they. Are your roots in Haxtun? Has your family done anything for the town other than purchasing the building and painting it? Because you have cameras and a cause does that make you more superior than any one of the people that is riding by or walking by? I think not. Shock and ridicule does not always get you what you want. When I watched your piece, I felt for the townspeople because it was obvious to me that you were looking at them so negatively and speaking about them because they were not coming up to your intimidating cameras and speaking their minds. How nice for you that you can belittle the town, the buildings, and the people. My roots are in Haxtun and your methods and insinuations offend me. Elizabeth Klick
