Murder-suicide at Thornton's Hawthorne Hill Apts?: Man & woman found shot dead (No. 23)
What the hell's going on around here lately? Hot on the heels of Michael Wade Jackson's arrest in the slaying of Mohamed Abushahma and a shooting near a condo in Aurora, we're learning about the discovery of two dead bodies -- one male, one female -- in a Thornton apartment. Both died of gunshot wounds to the head, which certainly suggests murder-suicide, although the Thornton Police Department isn't going there just yet.

Homicide InvestigationOn 09-13-2010, at approximately 11:30 pm, Thornton Police Officers were dispatched to the Hawthorne Apartments, 11801 York Street, Building 4, Apartment 421, in reference to a shooting victim at that location. Upon arrival officers discovered an adult female and an adult male deceased in the apartment. Both victims were suffering from gunshots wounds to the head. A handgun was recovered from the scene.
The identities of the two deceased individuals are pending notification of next of kin and positive identification from the Adams County Coroners Office. The cause and manner of death are pending the official autopsy report from the Adams County Coroners Office.
