Update:It took over a week for the Denver coroner's office to identify the man found dead in a car on the 1100 block of South King Street on October 17. The information came around the same time Paul Cortez was ID'd in a homicide near Bruce Randolph and York.

The South King victim is Santiago Gutierrez-Hernandez. Here's the release revealing his ID and the violent manner of his death:

On October 17, 2010 the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner was requested to respond to the Garfield Park area close to 1100 block of South King Street. An unknown male had been discovered in an abandoned vehicle. The decedent was identified as Mr. Santiago Gutierrez-Hernandez of Denver Colorado (DOD: 11-29-1983). The cause of death is gunshot wound to the chest. The manner of death is Homicide.

Original item, 9:49 a.m. October 18: Soon after a dead man was found in Aurora's Crestwood Suites comes word of a body discovered in a car on South King Street. No definitive word from the coroner, but a Denver Police Department release says the victim appears to have been shot. Homicide 1100 Blk. S. King Street

On October 17, 2010, Denver Police received a call concerning an abandoned vehicle in the 1100 block of South King Street. Officers found a deceased male in the backseat of the vehicle. Homicide detectives where called to the scene. The exact cause of death is pending the results of the autopsy, but it appears the victim was shot. The victim's identification is pending The Office of the Medical Examiners positive identification and notification of next of kin.
