Reader: Replacing Kyle Orton, one of the league's top passers, with Tim Tebow is crazy

• Joe and tina, where do you guys get your stats?? KyleOrton.com? Kyle is the 8th best qb in the league if you look at passer rating. If you just look at that number thats not too bad. But he has the 6th lowest ypa (yards per attmept.) Any qb that is throwing the majority of his passes for 5-10 yards will have a good passer rating. Just like Johnny said, even Cutler acted like he cared and wanted to win the game, if you look at Kyle's demeanor it looks like he just wants to do enough to get his paycheck, theres no fire in Orton. Look at all the great qbs in the league, they have that fire and thats why they are winners.

• I agree with Ryan entirely. Orton has poor accuracy, even though many of his passes are completed. He often throws the ball far above or behind the stride of the receiver or running back, forcing them to stop in their route and get walloped by the defense instead of them continuing their route, putting down a hit, and getting a few extra yards. His accuracy kind of sucks, but what really sucks about Orton is his lack of leadership. Even with Cutler you'd see him have a sense of urgency if the Broncos were down. With Orton, it just looks like business as usual. He doesn't even seem to care. He doesn't have the leadership it takes, and he doesn't have that "fire in his belly" that makes him want to go out there an compete and win. Kyle Orton does not have the sense of urgency - that perfection and winning are important - to be a true competitor in sports. Tebow has these things.

Orton has one of the highest ypa in the league and is also up there in passes over 20 and 40 yds. His arm is plenty strong to get the job done. Its a myth that hes a dink and dunk QB with no deep passing ability. Your obviously clueless. Orton is one of the few bright spots on the team.

• its not crazy tim tebow is 10x better than orton who has led the broncos to a 10 wins and 15 losses thats the only stat that matters and kyle orton is not a winner.

What you dont realize is that the reason orton has a fairly high passer rating is becuase his arm is only strong enough to throw 5-8 yard passes. If you really look at his stats you'll see that 87% of his passes are less then 10 yards. 87%!!!! And yes Kyle is the main reason we are losing. When you have no deep theat or running game it makes for a very easy offense to deffend. Not only that but he has no leadership skills what so ever and that is a qb's job, to lead and motivate the team. If the broncos started Tebow they would get not only a reinvigorated running game but also a deep threat and most importantly leadership!!!

• You replace a player because you think you can do better with somebody else. Tina hit it exact with her take. Kyle Orton's a big reason the Broncos aren't winless. His arm beat a Tennessee team that was 14-18 points better than Denver, and his play against Seattle was off the charts. It's sacred in sports that when a guy wins the job, then does the job after he gets it, he gets to keep the job until he proves he can't do the job. Or.......somebody proves he can do it better. There certainly isn't any body on the Denver roster that can play quarterback at even close to the all pro level Orton's played at so far. To bench him for a popcorn armed rookie would be punishment. Punishment for what? Please cite one reason, any body, Denver would help themselves by benching Orton. Anybody.

• It's hard to follow a team that is losing and doesn't seem to care. The broncos are in a coma. They played well against the jets but back to crap with the raiders. No consistency.

• Glenn, I feel your pain. Should we already write off the Broncos' season? As a lifelong Broncos fan, I'd hate to do that, but...
