10 great Broncos vs. KC Chiefs video moments (in case there aren't any on Sunday)

• Inexcusable oversight on my part as well. KC at Denver, '92. Denver trailed 19-6 with literally 1:58 to play, Chiefs with the ball. Third and short. The Broncos hold, get a great punt return, and Elway tosses about 20 or 25 to Mark Jackson. Some say Marty was snakebit by Elway, but this loss is on then rookie Dale Carter. The ensuing kickoff got 6 yards deep and he inexplicably bought it out. The Denver Kickoff team nailed him inside the 15. Denver burned timeouts on every play, KC punted, and Vance Johnson returned it to the 27. Elway dropped a perfect 12 yard throw down the rabbit hole to Vance with about 30 seconds left for the winner, 20-19. Jaw dropping. And to think the Broncos didn't even have the ball with 1:58 left. It was over. Done. End of story. Except for the fact that the guy on the other side was Elway, and 44 other guys knew it was never over until the gun.

• Great videos Thanks. This dates me, but here's hoping somebody out there has video or pictures of what in my opinion are 5 other really great Bronco moments against the Chiefs. KC at Denver, 1964. First time Denver ever beat KC. (OR Dallas Texans, as they were 'till '63). Mac Speedie had just taken over for the fired Jack Faulkner. Unbelievable game, 33-27. Charlie Mitchell was unstoppable, scored on a run and a deep ball, Goose had 3 picks, and Jacky Lee had his greatest game as a Bronco. Lionel caught 2 scores, one a 34 yarder over Johnny Robinson, who was one of the greatest safeties in pro football history. KC at Denver, 1970. Unforgettable atmosphere all week leading up to it. NFL game of the week. The Broncos beat the World Champs, 26-13. Rich Jackson absolutely dominated the line of scrimmage. You truly had to see him play to appreciate how good he was. Len Dawson threw 3 picks to 3 different Broncos and was sacked 5 times. Colorado Buff rookie Bobby Anderson had a long Kickoff return that brought the decibel level to about 117. And Denver beat the chiefs for only the second time in history. KC at Denver, 1973. Third win ever over the Chiefs, 14-10. Denver was on their way to their first ever winning season, and Charley Johnson was terrific. 2 scoring balls to Haven. Floyd chipped about 80 yards running out of pure granite. Charlie Greer got the pick late off Livingston that sealed the deal. For one incredible week the Broncos were atop the Division. Broncomania was everywhere. Denver at KC, '77. Goal line stand at the end, Denver 14-7. The win gave Denver an insurmountable lead in the Division, and on they went to their first Super Bowl. KC at Denver '98. Elway hit Sharpe for the winner, at the end, Shannon's only catch that day. With the win Denver went 13-0 on the year. They repeated as World Champs. Bears Stadium, then Mile High. Those were the days.
