George Hickenlooper cause of death: Mixed drug use/sleep apnea combo took director's life

• Accidental? Maybe, but after I just finished watching an unauthorized docu-biography called "The Harvey Weinstein Story", where George comments repeatedly on Harvey's legendary temper, and then cryptically remarks near the end that Harvey might take offense to his remarks and mockingly dons sunglasses to conceal his identity, it makes me wonder about George's untimely demise.

• This is so sad as it was preventable. Sleep apnea can be dealt with, or helped out by, sleeping sitting up, losing weight, exercising, singing (Alise Ojay's Singing for Snorers), using Breathe Right strips, using a C-PAP machine (ideally to be only used if someone won't do the aforementioned things or until those other things can get someone off the C-PAP machine) and possibly surgery (I say possibly because it doesn't always work) if the condition is anotomically based. Why George was on Oxy? I have no idea but I bet he didn't have to be and I bet there were less dangerous (if not those without any dangerous side effects) alternatives...alternative medicine does have options for chronic pain management (besides grinning and bearing it). And using alcohol while on a drug that tells you NOT to use alcohol while on it...I wonder if anyone who was close with him was aware of this? Even if they did, he was an adult and there's only so much anyone else could have done. Prescription drugs and conventional medicine help kill another fairly young person.

• Mr. Hickenloopers' death was caused by preexisting medical conditions and irresponsible use of ethanol and 0xymorphone. I am sick and tired of patients who need strong painkiller being denied them because of the irresponsible behavior of some patients.

• ethanol (alcohol) and oxymorphone (opoid pain killer) are both highly toxic and deadly. don't use these lethal, legal drugs.
