Nuggets considered trading for Kevin Love, says George Karl

Before the Nuggets beat the Timberwolves 119-113 last night in Minnesota, Nuggets head coach George Karl said his team considered trading for hot-shooting Timberwolves star Kevin Love this past summer.

According to reports, Karl said the organization asked about a possible trade for Love, a 6' 10" power forward.

"I know there were inquiries," Karl told the Denver Post before the Nuggets played the Timberwolves. "In some of the meetings we talked and his name was out there. It never got close, I know that."

As an aside, Love is the nephew of Mike Love, founding member of the Beach Boys, which may have prompted fans to looks this song up last night after reading Karl's comments:
