Denver taxicab controversy: Read Yellow Cab lawsuit alleging discrimination and abuse

Thumbnail image for Mean streets westword cover.jpg
Last week's cover story, "Mean Streets," detailed allegations of discrimination, abuse, assault and bribery at Yellow Cab, Denver's oldest taxicab company. The accusations came to light courtesy of a federal lawsuit filed last summer by 21 former Yellow Cab drivers -- the details of which you can read below.

The lawsuit has since been dismissed at the request of the plaintiffs after Yellow Cab agreed to shoulder most of the costs of legally arbitrating the drivers' concerns. But since the allegations have generated fierce debate in the comments section of the "Mean Streets" feature and on several follow-up blogs, we thought it best to let readers peruse the legal accusations for themselves. One warning: It's not a fun read.
