John Elway, Twitter all-pro -- and star of a new Denver Broncos reality show?

The Denver Broncos' decision to post videos of head coaching candidates has bemused NFL observers league-wide. Take an item by the Washington Post's Cindy Boren, in which she says the team has turned its coaching search into a "reality show," albeit a notably sanitized one. No hot tub threesomes yet, damn it!

But just as notable is new veep John Elway's embracing of Twitter.

Even before becoming a Broncos executive, Elway embraced social media. For instance, his Facebook page sports frequent wall posts ranging from blatant promotion ("from now until Monday, all shipping is free on the items in the store") to a review of the movie Due Date ("not as funny as The Hangover but entertaining enough"). However, he's really ramped things up via his Twitter account, launched on January 5, when he signed up with the team again.

Since then, he's congratulated Shannon Sharpe on becoming a Hall of Fame finalist, solicited questions for coaching hopefuls from followers, and provided reviews of interviews like this one:

Got some very thoughtful responses from you guys-Thanks! Enjoyed meeting with Rico and Dirk today. Both made great presentations.less than a minute ago via web

Rico, by the way, is Rick Dennison...

Most interesting tweets to date? Probably the ones attempting to knock down rumors that the Broncos might be willing to shop Tim Tebow:

To clarify my thoughts on Tim Tebow... I think he's a very good football player, and if anyone can turn themselves into a great QB, Tim can.less than a minute ago via web

Myself and our entire organization think very highly of him. We are pleased with his first year as a Bronco.less than a minute ago via web

Any speculation that the Denver Broncos are considering moving Tim is completely false.less than a minute ago via web

By the way, Tebow's Twitter account is a lot less active than Big John's. His last tweet at this writing was published on January 6 (to pimp his ESPN special), and several previous ones consisted entirely of biblical references ("Jeremiah 9:23-24 GB²," he wrote on January 2).

Get with it, Timmy. Your boss is showing you up.
