Suicidal man prompts standoff with SWAT team on 9600 block of Maribou Court in Littleton
Last night, residents living on or near the 9600 block of Maribou Court in Littleton were asked not to leave their houses for several hours -- except for those police escorted out.

The reason? A standoff between the Douglas County SWAT team and a suicidal man who barricaded himself in a house, shooting several times before finally surrendering to authorities.
The information comes courtesy of Sergeant Ron Hanavan, spokesman for the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, who earlier today told us about the arrest of Highlands Ranch dental assistant Roohallah Mobarez, charged with sexually assaulting four children.
The situation came to a head "at about 6:20 last night," Hanavan says, "and upon the officers' arrival, the subject was firing rounds off inside the house. We did an immediate containment of the perimeter and initiated emergency notification to tell citizens in the immediate area to stay in their houses."
The Douglas County combined SWAT team also evacuated the man's closest neighbors, Hanavan continues, "and through negotiation, we were able to get the gentleman to surrender without further incident" at approximately 9:20 p.m., three hours later.
