Shannon Sharpe will make it to the Hall of Fame this year: So says our crystal ball

Shannon Sharpe, the outspoken tight end who was part of both of the Denver Broncos winning Super Bowl teams, was named on Sunday as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame -- again.

It was the third time that the eight-time Pro Bowler -- now a broadcaster for CBS -- has been included; he was one of fifteen finalists. The class of 2011 will be revealed on February 5.

And there is some tough competition: Curtis Martin, Jerome Bettis, Deion Sanders and Marshall Faulk are all eligible.

Will Sharpe make it this time?

If you believe Westword's prediction from our 2010 Best of Denver issue, he will. And get ready for our Best of Denver 2011, which will be in print and online in late March.
