Speed trap near I-25/I-70 mousetrap tomorrow -- for your safety, says Denver Police Dept.

It's not often that cops give drivers a heads-up about a speed trap -- but tomorrow is an exception. The Denver Police Department has announced that it's conducting "speed-enforcement activities" near Interstate 25 and Interstate 70 beginning at 7 a.m. and continuing through early afternoon. The Denver Police Department is concerned about the safety of all motorists and understands speed is a contributing factory in many of the accidents on our highways. On Saturday, January 29, 2011, Denver Police will be conducting speed enforcement activities from 7a.m. to 2p.m. in the vicinity of I-25 and I-70. Motorists that are speeding over the posted limits should expect to be contacted by an officer. The posted speed limit in this area of Denver is 55 mph. We will have approximately eight officers enforcing the speed limit. This is made possible thanks to a partnership between the Denver Police Department and the Colorado Department of Transportation, which provided grant funds for this project.
