Sad pay phone of the week: The pay phone at Colfax and Grant

Earlier this month outside a Vietnamese restaurant, where the smell of pho fills the air, melting snow from a rooftop dripped on a lonely pay phone.
The phone was grimy, beat up -- not exactly something that you would really want to press to your ear, let alone any other patch of skin on your body.
Cigarette butts were plentiful on the ground and even on the stand of this lowly land line. To top it off, the phone was covered with graffiti and perfectly vulnerable to the alley around the corner from where it was perched.
This phone has seen better days, but it still calls out longingly to passers-by in the hope of being picked up. Figuratively speaking, that is.
If you plan on making a call from this phone, do so on a full stomach -- because the Vietnamese restaurant smells delicious.
