Daryl Rasmussen, aka Ms. Puppy, sought in Ronald Ford-Ramiro Sanchez killings (55, 63)

Update: Last month, the bodies of former restaurant co-owners Ronald Ford and Ramiro Sanchez were found in their Stuart Street home. Weeks later, the Denver Police Department announced their interest in finding someone thought to be a roommate of the pair -- a previously homeless cross-dresser known by the memorable moniker Ms. Puppy. Now, we know Ms. Puppy's other handle: Daryl Rasmussen.

In addition to identifying Rasmussen, 55, the DPD has made available three photos, including from surveillance footage showing him in his Ms. Puppy guise. See them below, beneath a department release. That's followed our original post on Ms. Puppy.

Daryl L. Rasmussen, DOB: 09/27/55, a.k.a. "Ms. Puppy."

On February 11, 2011, members of the Denver Police Department responded to 122 N. Stuart Street, Denver, Colorado on a suspicious death. A search of the residence located the deceased bodies of Ronald Thomas Ford (63 years of age) and Ramiro "Rome" Sanchez (55 years of age). Both victims suffered blunt forced trauma. The manner of death is homicide.

Detectives learned that a third male identified as Daryl Rasmussen, DOB: 09/27/55, also known as "Ms. Puppy" lived with the victims. The above photographs show the different appearances of Mr. Rasmussen. He is a person of interest in this investigation.

The Denver Police Department is seeking information as to the whereabouts of Mr. Rasmussen. Anyone with information about Mr. Rasmussen, please call the Denver Police Department at 720-913-2000 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

Original item, 10:45 a.m. February 21: On February 11, the Denver Police Department found the battered body of Ronald Ford in his west Denver home. On February 18, they released the identity of a second body found in the house: Ramiro Sanchez, who'd been a partner with Ford in the short-lived La Fabula restaurant. Sanchez was briefly considered a "person of interest" in the death of Ford, but now the DPD is only interested in one person: a homeless cross-dresser known as Ms. Puppy.

Here's the latest from the Denver Police Department:

On February 11, 2011, members of the Denver Police Department responded to 122 Stuart Street on a welfare check. Upon arrival, the officers located a male victim, later identified as Ronald Ford (64), in the basement of the home. Initial indications are that the victim died as the result of blunt force trauma. The basement is used for storage and packed from floor to ceiling with various items.

Because of the condition of the basement, investigators secured the home and have made additional entries into the home since February 11, 2011, for processing. During an entry on February 18, 2011, investigators moved some of the stacked items and found a second body covered significantly with numerous articles and bags.

Police do not have an identity on this second male, nor do they know a cause of death. This investigation is continuing at this time.

Until any identification is made on the second body police are still seeking the locations of Ramiro "Rome" Sanchez, 01-07-55, and an unidentified white male. The best description of the unidentified white male is 40 to 60 years of age, approximately 5'11" to 6'0", having a thin build, and red or brown hair. Reportedly, this male is a cross dresser and uses the moniker "Ms. Puppy". His first name is possibly 'Mike'.

Prior to moving in with Mr. Ford and Mr. Sanchez, two or three months ago, this unknown male was possibly homeless.

Neither Mr. Sanchez nor the unidentified male has been seen since the discovery of Mr. Ford on February 11, 2011. The last known date that any of the individuals was seen was January 25, 2011.

A white, 1997 Dodge Caravan, bearing Colorado tag 913OAV, registered to Mr. Ford and Mr. Sanchez is missing from the scene. Investigators believe that Mr. Sanchez and the unidentified male may be travelling together in this vehicle.

No further information will be released at this time.

Back in 2000, Sanchez, a longtime server at Strings, and Ford, who'd graduated from the Art Institute of Colorado's culinary school, opened La Fabula -- which translates roughly to "talk of the town" -- at 2637 West 26th Avenue. They intended it to be an upscale Mexican restaurant, but it proved a fabulous failure and quickly disappeared, just another in a long line of forgotten former tenants at that address.
