It's simple math: Being struck by two cars is twice as bad as getting hit by one. That's what happened to a man in Lakewood Saturday night -- and while one driver, ID'd as Martin Parras, stopped (and is being investigated for DUI and vehicular assault), the other's still at large. Get details and see a larger pic of Parras below.

Lakewood Police Department release, 12:53 a.m. March 20:

On March 19, 2011 at about 10:55 PM, Lakewood Police agents responded to the intersection of West Colfax Ave. and Kendall St. on an auto vs. pedestrian accident. The initial investigation revealed that an adult male was walking southbound across W. Colfax Ave. when he was hit by a vehicle travelling eastbound on W. Colfax Ave., and then hit by a second vehicle that was also travelling eastbound on W. Colfax Ave. The male was transported to St. Anthony's Hospital for treatment, with possible life threatening injuries.

The first vehicle, described as a silver recent model sedan, left the scene of the accident without stopping. Police were able to stop the second vehicle. The name of the driver of that vehicle is not presently being released, as the investigation is ongoing.

Police are investigating the possibility that alcohol played a role in the accident. Anybody who witnessed the accident or has information about the accident is asked to call the Lakewood Police Department at 303-987-7111.
