Reader: Kyle Orton is a .500 QB -- and Tim Tebow can lead Broncos to playoffs this year

•  Why is it that Tebow wouldve been 3-0 if it wasnt for the defense but Orton can be no better than .500 playing with that same defense even though he was in the top 10 in QB play for a good portion of the season .  I like them both Tebow has tons of potential and Orton has done nothing but improve every year even if he hasnt had the benefit of a team that did .  Without a defense or running game neither Qb will have much success in fact most Qbs dont have success without at least one of those two aspects of the game at least being average. Im far more worried about that than I am who starts at QB 

• Absolutely. Jacksonville passed on him. His home town. And they were anything but thrilled with their quarterback at the time but drafted Tyson Alualu from California with the 10th pick in the 2010 NFL Draft. The knock from the owner, coaching staff, and potential team mates....can't throw and simply not any better than Danny Wuerffel.   Wishing this great kid could be as good as everybody would love him to be simply won't make it so.  

• QB is the last thing the Broncos need. Three guys that could legitimately start? Why add a fourth. The Beoncos got plenty of offense out of their squad. Had they had a defense, the team would be playoff bound. DL, not QB.

• I think that Kyle Orton had a very good year as a quarterback stat-wise considering the dismal season the Broncos had. If I was Orton, I'd be upset to be replaced by a rookie after putting up the numbers he did. His numbers would have been even more impressive if he hadn't missed the last three games of the season because of an injury, and if the team had a winning season. I'm sure he could've played the last two games if he had to, but I think that since the season was lost anyway, the coaching staff decided to let Tebow get some playing time. I'm not a huge Orton fan, but why penalize him after he had such a solid year? Tebow may or may not be a future NFL star but he went some what low in the draft for a Hiesman Trophy winne,r and was passed over by several teams for a good reason.

• I seriously don't know where to begin with this reader comment. Did he watch those games that Tebow started?? The reason it looked as if every throw was a hail mary was because Tebow had to throw it sky-high to get the bail downfield. If it weren't for Brandon Lloyd making miraculous catches, Tebow would have had at least two more interceptions. The bubble screen calls were a result of McCoy not wanting Tebow to throw anymore INTs. Second, the same "lackluster" defense you blame for Tebow's losses also played with Orton. Shouldn't he be given the same leeway? Finally, Broncos in the playoffs? You're joking, right? No matter who lines up under center, this team won't sniff the Wild Card - not without a reliable RB, a legitimate starter on the DL and the many holes on the OL.  With all that said, it's clear that Tebow supporters in this town will not rest until he reveals to them that he's not any good. Orton can't win more than eight games next year, and neither can Tebow. If you're John Fox, you gotta start Tebow, let the city see that he's garbage, let our terrible record give us another high pick, then draft a QB in next year's draft. 

• There is nothing more amusing than the irrational faith that Tebow fans have for their quarterback.  How many games did Tebow win?  One.  He was winning at roughly the same rate as  Kyle Orton last year.  But yeah, he can totally get a team with no defensive tackles and  one good defensive back into the playoffs.
