Reader: Hit-and-run laws haven't stopped cowardly drivers from taking the easy way out

Tim Albo.
Family members of hit-and-run victim Tim Albo believe current laws reward drunk drivers for leaving the scene of an accident -- and they'd like to change that equation.

In the meantime, asks one reader, where's that leave victims?

Jail Nation writes:

What should you do if you're the victim of a hit and run accident? When drivers of cars and trucks are involved in an accident, it is their responsibility to stop at the scene. Hit-and-run drivers ignore these laws, cowardly fleeing the accident instead of taking responsibility, providing assistance, and notifying authorities.
