Jimmer Fredette asks Chatfield grad & BYU cheerleader Whitney Wonnacott to wed (PICS)
As BYU sharpshooter Jimmer Fredette ascended to national basketball stardom, photos of his girlfriend, BYU cheerleader Whitney Wonnacott, began popping up everywhere. Such shots were of particular interest in these parts, since Wonnacott grew up here and graduated from Chatfield High School.

Now, she's back in the spotlight, after Jimmer asked her to marry him.
Fredette informed the populace the new-fashioned way -- via Twitter:

Wonnacott has been getting more spotlight time of late, including several glamour shots at the ESPY awards last month. As a result, Yahoo! Sports reports, she's become the target of autograph hunters, too -- the kind who interrupt the couple while they're eating dinner. Such attention will only escalate now, but in other respects, the timing of their engagement was perfect. Although Fredette was drafted by the Sacramento Kings, NBA players are currently locked out. So he's working on his game in Utah, where Wonnacott is still attending BYU.
She said "yes," obviously.
