Editor's note: William Breathes's weekly dispensary review, which recently moved into the 4:20 p.m. time slot (appropriately enough), will appear in this space soon. In the meantime, here's another Breathes post, about two kinds of green.

Want to hit the greens in public this weekend for a good cause? This Saturday at City Park Golf Course, The Clinic is holding its second annual Charity Golf Classic, which raises money for multiple sclerosis research.

The tournament is a personal crusade for Clinic master grower Jay Price, who lost his father at an early age to the disease. Every week, Price talks with patients who use medical marijuana as part of their treatment regimen for MS, so pairing his dispensary with the national MS society was a natural move. "This is very near and dear to my heart," he says. "I'm glad we're able to make a difference in this way."

Last year, between the golf tournament and fundraising for the annual MS Walk, the Clinic raised more than $11,000 for the MS society. This year, Price says, his group has already surpassed the $11,000 goal set last year at the MS Walk, and hopes to raise another $6,000 at the tournament.

Individual and team spots are still available, and you don't have to be a medical marijuana patient to enter. Tickets are going for $105 per person or $420 for a group for eighteen holes, snacks and a barbecue lunch. There will also be contests for putting, longest drive and closest to the pin, as well as a raffle for a trip to Hawaii. The guys at Heady Glass in Englewood have even created three custom glass putter pipes to give out.

Interested golfers can pick up tickets at either Clinic location (1479 South Holly Street and 4625 East Colfax Avenue) or online at the event website.

Puffing on the public course is discouraged... and illegal, of course. But we doubt that's an issue, because none of you would ever consider smoking a joint in public -- even if a golf course were the perfect place to burn a nice, big spliff.
