Jose Manuel Martinez-Adame went the extra mile to earn his nickname of "Vampire."

He reportedly had his teeth sharpened to better resemble a demon of the night. And cops believe he's got a lethal nature -- which is why they're looking for him in relation to the homicide they've linked to the Mexican drug trade.

On September 6, Westminster police officers received an anonymous tip that led them to the Toscana Apartment complex, located on the 8400 block of Sheridan Boulevard. They soon found the body of an adult male inside.

The cops haven't released the name of the victim at this point, because they don't know it. They believe the man was a Mexican national working with a group to traffic drugs to the United States. Hence, they're working with the Mexican Consulate to locate next of kin south of the border.

As for the cause of death, they're keeping that to themselves as well. But they've confirmed that a homicide investigation has been launched, with the focus on Martinez-Adame, another Mexican citizen who was recently deported -- although they don't believe he stayed away.

Martinez-Adame, 22, has a slew of pseudonyms, ranging from Salvador Castellano Moncayo to Bernardo Antonio Briones. He may still be in Colorado, but he also could have high-tailed it to California or even Mexico, where he might disappear into the gloom like a certain mythical bloodsucker. If you have any information about his whereabouts, call 720-913-STOP (7687).

Look below to take a larger look at Martinez-Adame's mug shot -- unfortunately, he's not showing his choppers -- as well as an interactive graphic that captures the area near where the crime took place. If you have problems seeing the image, click "View Larger Map."
