George W. Bush to get smart on his Get Smart visit to Denver

President Barack Obama was in town last month, and will be back next week.

But today, it's George W. Bush's turn to visit Denver, where he'll be meeting this morning with Mayor Michael Hancock and Denver school superintendent Tom Boasberg to talk about Get Smart Schools, a charter school initiative.

Bush already showed some smarts by cancelling his last scheduled visit to Denver, in February. He was supposed to do double duty that duty: meet with education leaders to talk about Get Smart Schools, and also address the Young Presidents' Organization Global Leadership Summit. But when he learned that WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was on the summit schedule, Bush cancelled.

No leaks, Wiki or otherwise, should stop this visit. Bush is slated to be at Get Smart headquarters in Curtis Park at 7:30 a.m.; the Colorado group inked a deal this spring to work with the Bush Institute's Alliance to Reform Education Leadership on its inaugural initiative on education reform.

Patty, Mayor Oreo is reported to have said that Bush will return here -- could we please get a heads-up so that we can prepare a suitable welcome and send-off for this monster, and thank the Mayor and his partnership to finish off public education in Denver appropriately?

I am sorry to learn that Mayor Oreo met with the vile traitor, Bush, especially after the fact.
