Occupy Denver: Tent State University vet Adam Jung lashes out at John Hickenlooper

• Not so -- there are some enlightened politicians who do serve the best interests of their constituents -- consider the only independent (and socialist) in the Congress, Senator Bernie Sanders from Vermont.  If Hickenlooper or Hancock represent the best leadership Colorado has to offer, we should go back to being a part of Kansas.

• Hickenlooper is as good as this political system gets. You have to be part of the 1% to make it in this political system. To the extent the occupy movement wants to address the mainstream political process at all, the only place to start is by getting all money out of the campaign process. equal taxpayer-funded campaigns and obligatory media space devoted to each candidate with a minimum number of signatures. No more multi-million dollar ad budgets, force any media entity that uses public resources (airwaves, utility poles, etc) to provide equal coverage for candidates. That would help get a government that truly represents the 99%

• Hickenlooper declared at his press conference yesterday that he would bend over backwards to accommodate freedom of expression.  He said that protesters were free to be in Lincoln Park between 5am and 11pm.  The very next day, he ordered Lincoln park closed indefinitely and ringed it with riot police.  Denver, how dumb are you?
