Occupy Denver: See photos of our first two profile subjects in police custody

Big pics below.
Patricia Hughes had better be careful.

Hughes is the subject of reporter Kelsey Whipple's third Occupy Denver profile of the week. But this morning, our own Brandon Marshall happened to snap photos of Whipple's first two subjects, Corey Donahue and Pat Marsden, in police custody. See them below.

Donahue declined to allow Whipple to photograph him at the Occupy Denver tent city. However, here's a photo of him from our files; it captures him advocating on behalf of marijuana reform.

And here's Marshall's photo of him being arrested this morning:

Next, check out Whipple's photo of Marsden:

And this image shows him under arrest:

A total of 23 people were reportedly arrested at the site. (Update, 2:05 p.m. October 14: The Colorado State Patrol says the CSP arrested 21 people.) What happens to them next? Our Jenn Wohletz received this communique a short time ago:

Attention! The Arraignment of our Occupy Denver brothers and sisters who were arrested last night will be at 1:30pm today at the Jail House, corner of Elati and Colfax. Room 2300. Please come with us to show our solidarity!

We'll continue to cover this developing story. In the meantime, click here to view Marshall's entire Occupy Denver slideshow.

Donahue is another poster child for those who would call the Progressive Left idiots, feebs and losers. If this clown has so much time on his hands and wants to make the world a better place he needs to be volunteering at the Children's Hospital or working in food banks or prison class rooms, not breaking up provate meetings, screaming at cars and getting maced in public.

It's just another case of neurosis and emotional instability masquerading as social consciousness....with a need to play it all out in public. Blech.

Last night (10/15/2011) Corey was arrested again, this time on trumped-up charges of sexual misconduct FOR ALLEGEDLY GROPING A (MALE) TV NEWSCASTER DURING THE PROTEST!  When I say that the corporate media is our enemy, I really mean it.  The institutional hostility and disdain it shows us is reflected in the demeanor and behavior of its minions.  If these charges are baseless (of which I am certain), people in Denver (and especially those of Occupy Denver) should reflect on how little the corporate media serve the interests of journalism and just how partisan it has become.  We cannot wheedle more or better coverage out of people who are the avowed enemies of progress and freedom.

All quiet and this morning. It would be an honest statement to say this time it was the cops that took a lot of abuse and took it very well. A compliment considering how much power they had and didn't use. Job well done.

Should have gotten photos of the minors who went to detox and a photo of the couple fucking in an alley way. The scanners mentioned a man chugging a box of wine too - keep it classy Occupiers!

Corey looks beatific while being arrested.

You have to wonder about the anti-corporate activist chap flying the Hurley brandlogo on his fashionable black hoodie. At least Corey looks the part.

You have no idea what you are talking about.

P.S.  Corey volunteers with the Harm Reduction Action Center, a syringe exchange program protecting the public health.

Robert, save your carpal tunnel. I was listening to the police scanners at home because I among lots of others are curious. Don't try to play, you're the he-man, I'm the sidecar, because believe me I'm informed just as much as you'd hope me to be. What would you call that? I'm in the 1% of knowing? Just keep your bad apples at bay so you can save face is all I'm saying.

Thank you for the correction on the logo. Hurley is a Nike brand. Under Armour is asmaller company.I do feel kind of D-BAGesque for trying to inject some levity / irony at his expense. The guy stands up for what he believes in.That's more than most of us will do, myself included.

A police scanner provides useful information, but it is entirely one-sided and no substitute for firsthand experience.  My comments represent the perspective of someone who has spent a significant amount of time at Occupy Denver for the past ten days or so.  I was not present for the arrests, and I am not claiming to be omniscent, but I do know better than to mistake police chatter for reality.
