8 MPH bicycle crosswalk speed limit in Boulder: Will the idea stand up? (VIDEOS)
No, we're not making this up: According to the Daily Camera, Boulder city officials will soon consider whether or not to impose an eight mile-per-hour speed limit for bicycles entering or traversing a crosswalk. Strikes us as totally unenforceable, unless the city installs new photo-radar technology at ground level that's capable of differentiating pedalers from really fast joggers. Slow down, you crazy exercise zealots!
Then again, YouTube is overflowing with videos of bike riders trying to break automobile speed limits by pedal power alone. Could clips of people speeding in crosswalks become the next big thing? Ponder that important question will checking out the clips below.
