Kyle Orton waived by Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweets: Tim Tebow time rolls on

Kyle Orton.
Today, the Denver Post published an article in which John Elway was unwilling to dub Tim Tebow the Broncos' franchise quarterback. But the team just made a larger statement about the future according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Here's his tweet from moments ago.

The move makes sense even if the Tebow miracles stop coming. Clearly, Orton's no longer in the Broncos' plans from a short-term, medium-term or long-term perspective, so why continue to give networks the opportunity to show him on the sidelines trying not to look gleeful after another three-and-out? Brady Quinn's a lot more photogenic anyhow.

As for you Tebow haters, get ready: Unless he's carried away on a stretcher in the coming weeks, he'll be the Broncos' starter for the rest of the season.

If not beyond.

Pretty sad that a reporter who hasn't worked here for years continues to kick the local media's behind on Broncos coverage. That's what happens when you're more worried about buyouts and firing people for minor incidents of "illegal" gambling.
