Reader: Rapists don't assault because they're ugly or can't get laid
Our recent post about the 327 year sentence given to serial rapist Marc O'Leary got web surfers talking about his heinous crimes, as well as what might have motivated them.
Here's how one reader debunked a common misconception about the latter.
Most rapists don't rape because they are ugly or can't get laid. More than a few have wives or girlfriends, and access to legal sex. They rape because they get off on the power rush, and/or they get some kind of twisted thrill from preying on people like it's a sport. Look at Ted Bundy and Paul Bernardo, for two examples. These monsters were both considered intelligent, good-looking guys, and had no shortage of willing women. Yet, they chose to rape and murder.
