Tim Tebow's season passing stats refer to Bible verses! Blogger proves it!

Categories: Sports, Tim Tebow

Tim Tebow.
After the Broncos' shocking playoffs victory over the Steelers, we noted that Tim Tebow's 316 yards through the air echoed John 3:16, a Biblical verse he used to write in his eye black.

Building on that theme, Free Colorado's Ari Armstrong sets out to prove that Tebow's passing stats throughout the season point to Bible verses, too -- and damned if he doesn't make a mighty compelling argument.

open bible.jpg
In a post entitled "The Book of Tebow," Armstrong points out that Tebow's 316 yards came as a result of ten completed passes -- and "J," for "John," is the tenth letter of the alphabet.

He then applies this same code to Tebow statistics from earlier in the season. For instance, The Chosen One completed four passes for 79 yards against the San Diego Chargers in the season's fifth game -- numbers that call up Daniel (because "D" is the fourth letter) 7:9. It reads:

As I looked, thrones were placed and one that was ancient of days took his seat; his raiment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, its wheels were burning fire.

san diego chargers logo.jpg
Fiery enough for you?
Armstrong's interpretation: "That week, the Chargers beat the Broncos. Their 'throne' a 'fiery flame?' Well, it's the Chargers, and just look at the logo of their helmets! It's a flame! And the white hair? Check out the mane of Chargers general manager A. J. Smith.

Mind not blown yet? Hang on. In week seven against Miami, Tebow completed thirteen passes for 161. "M" is the thirteenth letter, but it can't pertain to "Malachi," because "that book doesn't contain enough chapters or verses," Armstrong allows. So it clearly must nod to Matthew 16:1, which reads:

And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show a sign from heaven.

sign from heaven.jpg
Hallelujah!
No doubt Tebow was tested in that contest, facing a fifteen point deficit with just over five minutes left. But he persevered, and the result was a heavenly 18-15 Denver victory.

More evidence? In game eight, Tebow completed eighteen passes for 172 yards. "R," of course, is the eighteenth letter, but once again, Ruth and Romans aren't candidates for reference because of their length. So that means the winning verse is Revelation 17:2, which starts mid-sentence -- so Armstrong includes the first verse as well:

Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, "Come, I will show you the judgment of the great harlot who is seated upon many waters, with whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and with the wine of whose fornication the dwellers on earth have become drunk."

As you'll recall, the Broncos lost that contest to the Detroit Harlots (er, Lions) by a 45-10 score. And during that game, how many times was Tebow sacked? Seven -- the same number as the angels and the bowls. And while Armstrong concedes that he's "not sure what the 'fornication' bit means -- perhaps it was metaphorical," he maintains that "the Broncos sure played like they were drunk."

As this last line insinuates, Armstrong's tongue appears to be in the vicinity of his cheek, but that doesn't make his discovery any less valid. So let's hope at the end of Saturday's game with the Patriots, Tebow has completed twelve passes for 263 yards, making flesh Leviticus 26:3 and its succeeding lines:

"If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them.... you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely. I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and none will make you afraid; I will rid the land of evil beasts, and the sword will not go through your land. You will chase your enemies, and they shall fall by the sword before you. Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight; your enemies shall fall by the sword before you."

Take that, you Patriot heathens!

This is classic, take a look at what a friend sent me about Tim Tebow and Nostradamus’ predictions: https://sites.google.com/site/...

Nostradamus predicted a Tim Tebow Super Bowl Victory! Long lost text of Nostradamus has recently been unearthed.  Lo and behold, a few of them seem to be referring to Tim Tebow.  Take a look at these two quatrains which Nostradamus wrote in Old French sometime in the mid-1500s:

The Prophecies; 11.1 412Le cheval jeune, le vieux surmontera, Et les onze contens seront unis ensemble,En caige de fer le grande fera treisner, Entree l’coupole du palais, sera prins l’or. TRANSLATION:LINE 1:  HE YOUNG HORSE SHALL OVERCOME THE OLDER, LINE 2:  AND ELEVEN PARTICIPANTS WILL UNITE TOGETHER, LINE 3:  IN ARMOR OF STEEL THEY WILL MAKE THE GREAT ASSAULT, LINE 4:  ENTERING THE DOME, THEY WILL SEIZE THE GOLD.  INTERPRETATION:LINE 1: Tebow plays for the Denver Broncos.  The older may refer to John ElwayLINE 2: There are 11 players on each side of the football fieldLINE 3: Football helmets and pads are often called “armor”LINE 4: Both this year’s and next year’s Super Bowl is played in a dome! The Prophecies; 11.1 417Un leader de lumière apprendre son fort,la levée des hommes dans sa fraternité Qui onc ne feut si gentillesse,Sceptiques durance les tiendra 'agenouillent comme lui. TRANSLATION:LINE 1:  A LEADER OF LIGHT WILL LEARN OF HIS STRENGTH,LINE 2:  LIFTING THE MEN IN HIS BROTHERHOOD,LINE 3:  NEVER WAS THERE ONE FILLED WITH SUCH KINDNESS,LINE 4:  DOUBTERS THAT FOR LONG THEY SHALL KNEEL LIKE HIM. INTERPRETATION:LINE 1:  Tim Tebow is often referred to as a leaderLINE 2:  Many in his team call Tebow inspirationalLINE 3:  Tebow is considered one of the kindest people on EarthLINE 4:  He has many doubters, and people everywhere are “Tebowing”

And maybe when Tim throws 4 interceptions, it's a sign of the end times... 4 horsemen and all that!  LOL.  It's football... it's a game.  Good for Tim to say that he doesn't think God cares if the Broncos win or not.  Some people need to get a grip!

THE TEBOW PLEDGE:  By liking this, I hereby pledge to attend at least 1 church service if Tim Tebow leads the Denver Broncos to a Super Bowl Victory. Pass this pledge on to all Friends and Family on Facebook. God Bless.

Stan the fact IS that Jesus is coming to take HIS believers soon and is using Tim Tebow to relay so you better get ready...and Eric, it is obviously God's plan was to have had these unfortunate events take place the way they have...hmmm. NOT a coincidence! Jojo...what the heck does IQ have to do with believing in the awesome work of God...NOTHING!!! Like Jeff said try reason and wisdom! Oh and by the way...take a moment and read John 3:16. That is fiction!

Jeff

IQ is just a number made up by man , it's wisdom and reason you lack

Gotta love the Jesus/Tebow freaks that didnt know what a field goal was a month ago. We officially have the lowest IQ fans in the NFL.

Not just numbers but words, if you look at John 3:16 it is" the way " to heaven, if you also recall at the end of the last play the cameras panned not to Tebow but the excitement of John Elway, there is your John, and not just John, his last name also has significance, if you were to put it into 2 syllables it would be El way, el in espanol is the in masculine form, John 3:16 The Way to Heaven

You mean some numbers correspond to other numbers in a book full of numbers! Crazy!

WOW Stan...you really don't have to get upset about some clear and obvious facts that the one and only loving God is trying to communicate to you. I suggest you follow Tebow and listen to the facts.

also....check out the Broncos mascot-Thunder, the WHITE HORSE.....Revelations 19:11-13 " 11And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God."........I would say that the WORD OF GOD have definitely been showing through Tebow.

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

John 9:26 Then they asked him, "What did he do to you? How did he open your eyes?"

There is no Phillistines 1:36. Why are you wondering about this?

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

That might happen Bettyrubble665, dont doubt the power of God. God doesnt care if the Broncos lose or not. Hes just trying to show you he is there, and he is using football and Tebow to reveal that. Yes, I agree some people need to get a grip on what is really going on here!

Eric

God's plan for a man to be burned over 50% of his body so a football team can win a game?

You are a fruitcake.

Then again, nobdy's accusing christ-ee zealots of actually behaving like Christ.

You idiots love everything about Jesus other than what he taught or how he lived.

Pathetic.

Im am going to try to reply without judging since im not supposed to. When you make comments like that it really show ignorance and a very slim view of religion. As a christian, it is not our job to jusdge and say "better get ready." The wonderful thing about tebow is that he leads by example and doesnt judge people. He does his best to live right and worries about his own soul. God is the only one that has the right to judge. You are obvioulsy lashing out at someone that spoke an opinion, though it prob rubbed you the wrong way, its not your right to cast that stone. As jesus did, we are to turn the other cheek. When we lash out, it only provokes the oposition. Now there is such thing as Righteous anger, but that is not something i want to type. As for the refrences the article makes, it is no better that the nostodamus crap that is everywhere. He is a devout christian and great role model, dont make it more than it is. Im sure tebow wouldnt want you to.

"Take HIS believers" where?  Taco Bell?

So John 3:16 is fiction?  Which part?  The eternal life part, the God-loving-the-world part, the only son part, the shall-not-perish part?  I don't follow, and that has NOTHING to do with IQ, wisdom, OR reason.

Stan

Wisdom and reason are subjective.  You lack deez nuts on your chin.  Let me help you with that.

Well, maybe the second-lowest.  There's always the Raiders fans.

Of course, if we're going down this road, there is the OTHER side of the coin.

Key opposing players injured and out of every game Tebow's played,,coaches inexplicably abandoning great coverages late, allowing Tebow vast expanses to run in, throw in, players running out of bounds when staying in would have iced the game, quarterbacks throwing into triple coverage at the end when they'd played remarkably well up through that point, head turning mistakes by defensive veterans on routine balls, on and on.

Throw in a mysterious, unexplained home fire at 1 in the morning that heartbreakingly burned an opponent's coach over 50% of his body, 10 Steelers out for the wild card game, 3 lost in the game itself, and Ryan Clark's replacement blowing his fake blitz assignment, leaving the middle open for the OT score.

So, yeah, if you want to take the "biblical", religious, or any other silly and insane route in this, you can just as easily say the eeriness and of the last 12 weeks has been the work of  Captain Howdy (The Exorcist), Damien Thorn (The Omen), or Rosemary's Baby.

What a geat horror movie THAT would make.

Just sayin'..............................................................

One time I rolled three sixes in Yahtzee.  I guess that makes me the antichrist.  Another time, I was working with a random number generator program and it spit out a series of random numbers.  If I cherry-picked some numbers and added, subtracted, multiplied, and divided, I wound up getting a number that was only 4 numbers away from the last few digits of my dad's license plate when he got his first car in high school.  HOLY CRAP!!!!!

Rodger...it is also my JOB as a christian to worry and pray about every soul in this world, and plant as many seeds as I can. As christians we are the church! I bet your bottom dollar Tebow worries about more than his own soul!! He is doing the same as other christians do, and that is what Gos asks of us!

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

I am sorry Rodger, but I beg to differ. Me making that comment, "better get ready" was just a true statement, and by NO means meant to sound like I was lashing out. Its a fact. It is NO diiferent than a christian friend saying it to a non-christian friend or your pastor using that phrase in a sermon. I am NOT ignorant or have a slim view of "religion". As I explained in a post above, its not religion, its a personal relationship with Christ. So please practice what you preach! How do you know what Tebow would and wouldnt want ME to do. I also disagree with your comment that the obvious John 3:16 referances and Tebow correlation is not at all in commparision to the nostodamus crap. I believe God IS working through Tebow NOT Nostodamus. I will do and say what I feel God wants me to do and communicate not Tebow.

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

No Stan, not Taco Bell! Its called heaven. In my earlier post I meant to say, "That is the truth, nonfiction,"! The eternal life part, the God-loving-the-world part, the only son part and the shall-not-parish part! Is all true! Now IS the time to follow! It has ALL to do with faith! Stan, I will pray for you and your salvation!

I fully understand that you TRIED to insult me with your chosen bible verse. It didnt work!! By the way...Satan has NOTHING on GOD. So telling Satan, "hi" for ME doesnt matter to me at ALL! I find it extremely unbelievable that someone can continually insult someone,  low IQ level, nuttier than Chinese chicken salad, dumb, making fun of a bag of hammers, for truly no reason. Satan sure is running around like a madman! There WILL be a day that he is No longer able. It makes much more sense to follow God, who has already overcome.

Stan, just tell Tigger what Hitchens says: "You can pray for me...I'll THINK for you." (paraphrased.)

Stan

Are you that dumb to where you can't see that I insulted you with a Bible verse and that you agreed with the insult?  Jesus Christ! I'm done with you.  Making fun of a bag of hammers is growing old.  Don't pray for me.  If you do, I'll have to tell Satan that Tigger765607 says, "Hi."  Peace.

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

You got that right Stan...cause I'm a child of God!!! I will continue to pray for you.Matthew 5:8 "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

Stan

Ha ha ha ha ha.  OK, Looney Tunes.  Trying to reason with you is like trying to teach differential equations to my dog.  It ain't gonna happen. No, sir!  Good luck to you and yours.  Let me send you on your way with a quote from Matthew 6:5:  “And when you pray, you must not be like the hypocrites. For they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and at the street corners, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward."

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

Here is what I understand from your post...YOU DONT GET IT! You are making God into a complex puzzle, and that is not who he is AT ALL!!! You dont need  "Wikipedia" or any other definition on "religion" to understand who God is and why Jesus Christ died on the cross for YOUR sins so you may enter the kingdom of heaven. Its all there for us in the best selling book of ALL time, THE BIBLE! All you have to do is believe that Jesus died for your sins. That has NOTHING to do with a man made definition of what religion is. Thank the Lord for that, I dont follow man, I follow God!

Stan
Stan

I thought "the ONE" was Keanu Reeves.  Are you really going to make me Wikipedia you?  So be it.  And so it was written,"Religion is a collection of cultural systems, belief systems, and worldviews that establishes symbols that relate humanity to spirituality and, sometimes, to moral values.[1] Many religions have narratives, symbols, traditions and sacred histories that are intended to give meaning to life or to explain the origin of life or the universe. They tend to derive morality, ethics, religious laws or a preferred lifestyle from their ideas about the cosmos and human nature."  Amen.

Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, and Hinduism are R-E-L-I-G-I-O-N-S, regardless of whether I personally believe in any one or all of them.

If you were to say that you were a Christian and recognized that different people believe different things and that it's all about personal choice, I'd understand  It's my choice not to believe in your beliefs.  But to misrepresent tenets of any given faith as "facts," and cherry-picking numbers from topical subjects in order to suggest that God is working through some prude jock's passing stats makes you appear nuttier than Chinese chicken salad.

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

Jojo, God is using Tebow to show you he is here! It has nothing to do with hell. Jesus dieing on the cross for your sins prevented that. Its your choice whether to believe it or not. That will prevent that!!!!

Tigger765607
Tigger765607

Sorry to hear that Stan! Its not "religion", its a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The ONE who suffered on the cross for YOU! Its ALL about love.

That's not what Jesus would say.  It's amazing how so many non-Christians know how to be better Christians than Christians do.
