Will Pericak, CU Buffs starter, allegedly starts fire in bar, f-bombs, chest bumps staffer

• Will Pericak was found NOT GUILTY by a jury of 5 women and 1 man after 5 hours of testimony.  Witnesses testified that there was no verbal or physical threat by Pericak and that Pericak left the bar when ordered to by the bouncer, who was not in uniform and did not have any identification that he was even an employee of the Pearl St. Pub.  The testimony of the bouncer included contradictions, exagerations and falsehoods.  The bouncer and cop testified that Pericak did NOT appear drunk.  He was not given a breathalyzer test but was tested for his blood sugar level as he is a diabetic and had to be given insulin at the jail. Pericak and his two female companions did not order or drink alchohol at the Pearl St. Pub, where Pericak went in order to get food and a Coke as he had self tested himself and found his blood sugar level low. The Boulder cop testified that he did not do any investigation at the bar that night or following day to corroborate the bouncer's account of the incident and simply took the word of the bouncer, who was following Pericak as he walked home.  The bouncer insinuated to dispatch and the cop that Pericak deliberately started a fire in a waste basket, when in fact witnesses established that Pericak accidentally ignited a small piece of paper in food basket when he tossed a match into the food basket that he thought was out.  He and witnesses testified that he doused it with ice cubes from a water glass.  The bouncer also testified that he was afraid the bar was going to burn down because there is always a layer of alchohol on the bar surface that could ignite, though Pericak and his companions were seated 20 feet from the bar in the back room. The Pearl St. Pub is so worried about this possibility that they provide match books on at the bar for patrons.  It took the jury about 20 minutes to come back with the not guilty verdicts and about 20 seconds for the bouncer to leave the court room.  The bouncer also admitted that he addressed Pericak and his female companions by dropping the F bomb on them.  Very professional.  If this is the type a jerk that the Pearl St. Pub is going to employ, don't go their and give them your business.  Also, it is not exactly reassuring to know that the Boulder police go around arresting citizens on heresay.

Isn't fact-checking part of your job as a journalist? One individual kicked a car which was not Pericak. Pretty vindictive and harsh article written for an person you don't even know.

• Steroids and alcohol don't mix well. Bars should have a stun-gun on the premises for situations like this one.  One zap and 5 employees to drag him to the curb ought to take care of it.
