Pat Robertson: Peyton injury after Tebow trade would serve Broncos right

Everyone's got an opinion about the Broncos' signing of Peyton Manning and trade of Tim Tebow to the New York Jets, including none other than Pat Robertson.

The televangelist recently came out in favor of Colorado's Amendment 64, the Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol Act. Now, however, he's basically suggesting that God wreak His mighty vengeance on the Broncos for giving The Chosen One the boot. See the video below.

Yesterday on CBN's The 700 Club (H/T Media Matters), Robertson responded to a news update about the Tebow trade by saying, "I think the Denver Broncos treated him shabbily. He won seven games. He brought them into the playoffs, for heaven's sake."

Then, after sputteringly recounting Tebow's last-minute victories, including the postseason triumph over the Pittsburgh Steelers, Robertson notes that Manning has been hurt of late. "If that injury comes back," he notes, "Denver will find itself without a quarterback. And in my opinion, it would serve them right."

In other words, with Tebow gone, they wouldn't have a prayer. Here's the Robertson clip.

A hateful old religious bigot.  Who cares what he thinks?  Another great example of how foul ANY religion is.

I don't know about that.

For about 25-30 million lunatic conservative christians, the old gasbag's preachin' to the choir.

Amen.

Like it or not, Pat Robertson's where the christian conservative republican ideology is right now.

For 2 years, evangelical zealots, fringe lunatics, and extremists shoved a marginally talented, player  with a popgun arm down our throats, proclaiming him a quarterback, in spite of his play, all because his peculiar social, religious, and political beliefs are parallel to theirs.

Football had nothing to do with it.

This mean spirited diatribe by Robertson isn't an outlier of fringe beliefs by any means.

It's the Rick Santorum republican base.

Sigh.  Just when I was about to give him some credit for his views on marijuana.  At least he's a senile fool on issues that don't really matter.

It's the Christian Way;  wish a debilitating spinal injury on anyone who slights your fellow Christian.

Robertson is a true Christian, allright.  Tebow needs to make a statement denouncing this kind of moranic behavior.
