We're still getting comments on last week's post about Jimma Reat, who was murdered after a 911 dispatcher told him and his companions to return to an area near the scene of a previous altercation.

Here's an example -- information about how Reat's family is coping with this awful event.

Kctafoya writes:

I knew the younger Reat brother through my work. I visit high schools and speak to kids about my college. From what I gathered during our twenty minute meeting, this is a great family who tries very hard to accomplish what they came to this countryj, for which is the very best. I'm wondering if there was some kind of language barrier issue that occurred here. I know that in typical hit-n-run cases, DPD will tell you to return the scene. but did the dispatcher realize they were in danger? I wonder if they expressed that they had felt threatened, would they have been told to return? Oh yeah, and about Jimma's little brother. Despite this tragedy occurring in his family, he still made an effort to return to school momentarily and get his college admissions materials submitted. That is dedication.
