Video: Kim Kardashian, Nuggets roasted at White House Correspondents' Dinner

Why were the Denver Nuggets name-checked by Jimmy Kimmel amid this weekend's White House Correspondents' Dinner? After all, the get-together took place before the Nugs were blown out by the L.A. Lakers in game one of the playoffs. The explanation involves an elaborate joke whose target was none other than Kim Kardashian.

During his bit, Kimmel noted that while the previous year's shindig was taking place, a military squad had been winging its way across the planet to kill Osama bin Laden. Hence, the question of who would be offed this year. And he floated one likely prospect.

"If you're looking for the biggest threat to America right now, she's right there. Her name is Kim Kardashian," Kimmel maintained, prompting the C-SPAN camera operator to pick KK out of the crowd. "She was captured by Greta Van Susteren and brought right to your doorstep.

"You know, when you took office," he continued, addressing a frozen-grinned President Barack Obama, sitting on the dais trying to radiate good-sportsmanship, "the Kardashians had one reality show. Now they have four. This is not a good trend."

And now, the local hook: "Right now," Kimmel said, "Navy Seal Team Six is outside the Kardashian compound in Beverly Hills disguised as the Denver Nuggets, so they can sneak in undetected."

Why is this joke funnier for Lakers fans than Denver backers? Because during yesterday's game, the Nuggets were, in fact, pretty much invisible.
