Don't these families have enough to deal with, without more being lumped on them... geesh.

How the funds are distributed should be decided by an independent group of community members, not the beneficiaries of the fund. The funds should be distributed with full transparency to the whole community and distributed to make the greatest impact on those who should properly benefit from the funds. And let's be real here: that means that some victims and their families will not be happy. But just because they are unhappy does not mean the funds have not been properly distributed. There won't be enough to go around so someone is gonna be pissed in any event.

If this money was collected under a 501-C3 / Non-Profit ,

law dictates at least %18 of all proceeds collected ,

must reach reach intent of donator.

The other %82 , can be covered under 'over-head' & operating costs.

Remember the early issues w/ 911' & United Way . Artists were

horrified when after telling American tv audiences ALL money received

would go to victims and when in fact it wasn't even close.....

I volunteer regularly. Rarely do I donate cash unless it is private an goes DIRECTLY to intended source...
