The City of Houston has released Run, Hide, Fight, a video designed to help people survive a mass shooting in a public place. According to CBS News, the $200,000 production was issued early due to the Aurora theater shooting, hitting YouTube days before this weekend's Sikh temple slayings. It's a terrifying sign of the times, but would it actually help someone get out alive? Decide for yourself: Watch the video, followed by the CBS report.

Or you play this song. It has a catchy beat and you can dance to it.

The best way to avoid a mass shooting is never ask a police officer for help. They like shooting unarmed people the most. They dress in all black and salivate at the chance to show of their all black attire. Pretty soon police will start wearing trench coats just like the Columbine kids.

The best way to defend yourself is get a CC licensee and shoot back.

Self defense is a very useful skill, with or without mass murderers. The newscaster said what most people think, comprehending running and hiding, but not fighting back. We are a Country of victims because of our reliance on police, they chose a career in protection, but you are just as capable of learning skills that surpass their training. Police are often portrayed as "well trained" but I believe that is an overstatement, you can learn to disarm an average police officer within seconds. The fight or flight response is ingrained in all of us, in every animal, and It's up to us as individuals to nurture, explore and understand both responses, not just flight. Only you can prevent personal attacks, the cops show up later. If you are not prepared to fight, you will most likely try to run and hide at an inappropriate time.

the American dream ?... where have we headed ? ... we have always had safety videos for natural disaster , or nuclear warfare ... now here we are given information on dealing with mass shootings ... I am not saying this is not an informative video , I am just saying our country is headed into a downward spiral ...

This video was made before the Aurora shooting and released shortly after it--it wasn't prompted by it.

In most places this would be very helpful, in a movie theater not so much

I think that its helpful. I want every bit of information from any experts that offer! I think its always good to be prepared , to have a plan. :) Or an armed bodyguard!

@Monkey Why do you live in so much fear of being attacked?

@DonkeyHotay When you learn to swim, you have less fear of drowning. When you learn to defend yourself, you have less fear of being attacked.

@Monkey When you live in the desert, fear of drowning is irrational.
