I,m a colorado native; almost 50yo , and always loved seeing the spaceship house when heading up into the hills. It's great getting to finally see inside. Yep, I would love to live in it.

I grew up hearing this house referred to as the Clamshell. Then I heard it called the Spaceship House. Then I heard it's "official" name was The Sculptured House. Now it's the Sleeper house? I can't keep up with all the names for this thing, but it is pretty from I-70, especially at night when it's all lit up. It's always seemed to be more of an architectural experiment than an actual functioning home, though. I think it should be allowed to be a little ugly.

As a dude, this house rocks. Inside and out, how can anybody be complaining about a thing except not owning or having access to this gem? Classic!

This is a house that I will always remember. You can't help but look at it when you are on I-70. Always reminded me of something you would see in the Jetsons. Definitely a landmark in Colorado.

I completely agree with you, Candie. The interior is tragic, as is the landscape design...or lack there of. The owner's taste is too provincial to understand what would work aesthetically in that home.

Yes, this house is iconic! It does need a better interior decorator. It has so much potential! Someone has just not kept it up very well. Also nowhere else will you get those views! I agree I don't think of it as a mansion either. Some of it looks updated, the bathroom for example. It needs some cool furniture from Roche Bubois!
