Marijuana video features Barack Obama pot lecture, arrests of Harold and Kumar

barack obama on phone head.jpg
Video below.
On Tuesday in this space, Law Enforcement Against Prohibition's Tom Angell accused the Obama campaign of using stoner stereotypes in a video featuring Harold and Kumar actors Kal Penn and John Cho despite the president's broken promises on pot policy. Now, Angell is sharing a clip in which Obama footage is intercut with comments from a marijuana user who reveals that Harold and Kumar have been arrested. See it below.

Angell calls the revision a parody, yet the video (made by "some reformers," he says) doesn't contain a lot of laughs. Obama's dialogue from the original is intercut with lengthy, highly politicized responses about federal action against medical marijuana dispensaries and the arrests of 850,000 people per year on weed charges -- all of them real people, unlike Harold and Kumar.

See the new version below, followed by the original.

An appeal to all Prohibitionists:

Most of us know that individuals who use illegal drugs are going to get high—no matter what, so why do you not prefer they acquire them in stores that check IDs and pay taxes? Gifting the market in narcotics to ruthless criminals, foreign terrorists, and corrupt law enforcement officials is seriously compromising our future.

Why do you wish to continue with a policy that has proven itself to be a poison in the veins of our once so "proud & free" nation? Even if you cannot bear the thought of people using drugs, there is absolutely nothing you, or any government, can do to stop them. We have spent 40 years and trillions of dollars on this dangerous farce; Prohibition will not suddenly and miraculously start showing different results. Do you actually believe you may personally have something to lose If we were to begin basing our drug policy on science & logic instead of ignorance, hate and lies?

Excellent!  This individual effort shows the impact that an uncompromising message can have.  The murdering criminals depicted at the end of the video must be cleansed from our land!

I wonder what the results would reveal if a candidate were to run under the banner of complete legalization of marijuana ? Make an effort to reach out to the dropout 'Stoners' & hold voter registration rallies EVERYWHERE !

This is a guess w/o any scientific research , but I'd bet more people smoke pot than vote ...

I think he is playing it safe. He is screwed no matter what position he takes in this awesome country. Illegal marijuana is job security for cops and revenue for states and feds.

@Juan_Leg Your guess is not even close.  There are twice as many people who have tried pot as have tried voting.
