Reader: Mitt Romney won't get Latino votes just because his son Craig speaks Spanish

Craig Romney.
Sam Levin recently covered a campaign appearance by Craig Romney, youngest son of Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney -- and a Spanish speaker, which explains why he's been targeting Hispanic voters at recent events. But one of our readers doesn't like the implication that his linguistic skills alone will sway Latinos.

Anita Bañuelos writes:

Just because he can speak Spanish doesn't mean he understand the Latino Culture. We are not simple minded and to believe for one second that speaking Spanish would get his daddy votes. I take that as an insult.

That was a miserable post to make Comment of the Day.

As for Ms. Bañuelos' point, es posiblamente que Romney ganará algunas votas por que su hijo habla Español, pero dudo que muchos Hispanoamericanos votaran por su padre.

@RobertChase Chase , you can't win them all . Please tell me you could care less about who but what makes the comment of the day . Yes , I do agree it wasn't much but at least it was politically correct and difficult to argue against .

I think it's nice that Roberts shares the Comment of the Day distinction between many . I know the lone time I was recognized , really made my day . I was and am grateful to Michael . I'm of the opinion that several in the blogs here, belong on staff , beginning w/ you and Donkey . Shortly followed by WhoCares , Monkey , Scar & that MAMMOTHLY hung Juan Leg , for sports ....
