Reader: Marijuana entrepreneurs deserve credit for providing jobs

Our post on a Newsweek article focusing on Colorado's so-called pot barons attracted plenty of comments about the Medical Marijuana Industry Group that fell short of complimentary.

However, a dispensary employee provided a very different perspective.

J.T. Gurl writes:

I work at a dispensary along with 5 other young adults. There are another 10 of us in the grow. No "caregiver" ever offered me a job. Not that I would have known where to apply or whether I could have relied on a safe working environment. Obviously, there should always be a place for people who want to grow their own medicine. But this idea that "caregivers" (most of whom don't care for anyone except themselves) are growing for altruistic reasons is retarded. At our shop we form personal relationships with patients and help the needy any way possible. We also EMPLOY people and spend lots of $ on contractors to build beautiful, proper, pest-free grows. A "caregiver's" money goes straight into his pocket. Maybe he hires one friend to help him out now and then. All the work is shoddy in an effort to cut costs as much as they can and most of the bud stinks and unreliable in every way. They make their $ and cowardly hide in their basements and forest grows in shame. Thank God for these people who took risks and created nice businesses that help thousands of people (with more than bud!) every day. Love u guys :D

Obviously a young immature dipshit, who knows very little about what he (or she)  is talking about. Good caregivers provide a much more superior product at a much more reasonable price. They deliver, and unlike most dispensaries they aren't rushed to hurry a product because the dispensary is out of "medicine". They flush/cure the product longer, and often manicure by hand.

and please get over your self and this whole idea that "dispensaries care about our patients".. They aren't patients, they are customers, you know that, I know that.  Yeah, I'm sure a small percentage of them are actually in need, but most of them are healthy males wanting something to stuff in their bong before playing Modern Warfare 3 for a couple of hours...

You work for essentially a g'ment controlled monopoly, I wouldn't get too self-rightous about that.

Is US drug prohibition and the consequences of the US drug prohibition a Crime Against Humanity?  According to Michelle Alexander, the United States "imprisons a larger percentage of its black population than South Africa did at the height of apartheid".  1966, the UN General Assembly labelled apartheid as a crime against humanity (resolution 2202 A (XXI) of 16 December 1966) and in 1984 the Security Council endorsed this determination (resolution 556 (1984) of 23 October 1984).  So if apartheid is a crime against humanity, what is something that is larger then a crime against humanity?

October 28, 2012 Crazy For Justice International Contact Corey Donahue mmedcora@hotmail.com

Thursday in Mexico City, Corey Donahue, founder of Crazy for Justice International entered the Embassy of Bolivia in order to seek asylum from the political persecution he faced at the hands of the governments of the United States of America. Corey has been a lifelong cannabis and human rights activist. He has faced arrest many times due to his political belief that the US government’s drug prohibition is a crime against humanity. When reached for comment Corey had this to say, "I have been persecuted many times by the governments of the United States, be it being arrested in the Governor´s office for no offence or being put in jail for possession of less than 1oz of cannabis even though I have a constitutional right to possess 2oz or having a restraining order take out against me not once but four times by members of the government of the State of Colorado and I have had enough I will no longer be persecuted for my political beliefs.¨ In an attached video statement Corey spells out more of his quest for asylum.

The Bolivian Embassy is working with Corey Donahue on his asylum claim. The government of Bolivia asked for as much detailed proof of political repression at the hands of the Governments of the United States America. If anyone has pictures, videos or verifiable stories of political persecution at the hands of the US governments, especially regarding drug related issues, please email them to Crazy for Justice International at mmedcora@hotmail.com. Upon receiving these reports the staff at Crazy for Justice will relay the evidence to the Government of Bolivia as well as other governments and peoples around the world.
