Reader: Banking rules a weapon to keep the War on Drugs alive

Our post about marijuana and banking quoted entrepreneur Wanda James as noting that her now-shuttered edibles business was a legal enterprise, not a criminal one. A reader quoted her words before weighing in on the contradictions between state and federal pot law -- an issue brought into stark relief by the passage of Amendment 64.

wtfk writes:

"We're not criminals."

The federal government thinks you're a criminal, and the federal government regulates the banks....

Of course, the fix for that, and pretty much everything else, is ending the Federal Reserve and allowing banks more autonomy. I'm guessing the war on drugs is a big reason why the feds LIKE to control the banks.
