Reader: Drunk cycling enforcement in Denver is nanny-state BS

Sam Levin's post about new drunk cycling enforcement by the Denver Police Department unleashed a torrent of commentary, much of it questioning the expenditure of resources on an offense perceived as considerably less dangerous to the general public than drunk driving. Here's an example.

thedawg writes:

More stupid Denver Nanny-State BS!!!... The only person a drunk bicyclist is going to hurt is himself, so let him!!!... If Denver cops don't have enough real work to do, perhaps a significant portion of them should be laid-off.

Drunkards belong in JAIL ... whether driving a car, riding a bike, or on foot.
