Sam Levin's petitions posts -- the first calling for Colorado and other states to secede from the U.S. in the wake of President Barack Obama's reelection, the second about a petition demanding that signatories to be deported -- have inflamed many readers' passions. Here's a comment from one who sees the entire exercise as mere wheel-spinning.

The secessionists will have ZERO impact! Frankly, the secessionists are a tiny minority of the silly and the foolish, 122 million Americans just voted in the general election that is what counts. This will be a news item for about one week or so, then the notoriety will be over and it will be history.
