Reader: Amendment 64 establishes untaxed, black market marijuana for all

Hickenlooper.
Our post about Governor John Hickenlooper's signing of Amendment 64 turned out to be a fount of conversation. But while Hick's proclamation allowed possession of an ounce or less of marijuana for adults 21 and over, a sales mechanism is not yet in place -- a contradiction noted by one of our readers.

orbitservice writes:

The problem with this situation is that it is now legal to possess marijuana, but there are no places legally to sell it to you... So you can buy it on the street, but not from a dispensary. Is this what you had intended, Mr. Hickenlooper? Untaxed, black market marijuana for all?

I don't think Hick intended any of this. I'm pretty sure if it was up to him he wouldn't want anything to do with any of it. The whole medical marijuana system is abused anyways. Its a joke. I think the best thing about legalizing marijuana is that it almost makes street dealers disappear. Why would I want to spend 50 and eighth when I can call almost everyone I know go to the dispensary and get me an eight for 25. And lets not lie, I have never heard of anyone asking a friend to go to the dispensary for them and them say, "No way dude, that is irresponsible and illegal!"

NOBODY is going to buy from the streets just because there is no place to "legally" buy marijuana. Everyone is still going to have friends go buy them weed from dispensaries if they don't already have their card. Just like everyone has been doing for the past few years.

@CoreyDonahue I think they're working on that.

@BackOffImStarving @CoreyDonahue They are not working on it there is no recording.  I already CORA requested the recording and the Nixonlooper´s office said there is no recording.  So whatever was said in that meeting will never be heard, like the 16 mins during the Watergate scandle.  So if there were any real reporters they would be on this like flys on shit.  But Michael is a bloger, so  don´t look at him for reporting.
