In my experience Cabs are the worst offenders, for multiple reasons. Especially, the dangerous right hook.

delicious irony to see the Biker Jim truck parked in a bike lane! i would have led with that

this is an important issue, but not an especially strong photo essay; cop cars often park in through lanes, sidewalks, lawns … wherever, so that's not really a bike-specific issue (and at least one appears to have its hazards on); delivery drivers and taxis are a similar issue, though not engaged in public safety, these regularly get in the way of anyone they want to, and no one seems to be willing to stand up to them

and even some of the "regular" cars shown are probably not parked, but have lights on and by position appear using the bike lane as a turn lane; my impression is that is legal, if not that would be something this article should cover and point out, rather than calling them "parked"

Of COURSE bureaucrats will park government vehicles in the bike lane. Who's going to write them tickets?

Remember, it's a nation of laws, not men. Equal justice under the law. NOT!

@sporobolus WalMart provides at least two parking spaces (the closest, after the handicap spots) for the cops, but they still park on the sidewalk in front of the doors. I've never seen them parked in the allotted spots. In response, I've picked up the habit of parking in the spots they refuse to use.

@DonkeyHotay If they catch anyone doing that they'll probably charge them with felony destruction of "public" property.

@weldcountysucks That's why you suggested "there's always the sidewalk."

...and you obviously DON'T give a fuck...

Protip: If you want people to read and/or respect your point of view, follow modest punctuation and style guidelines.

@weldcountysucks @Cognitive_Dissident It's illegal to ride a bike on a sidewalk in the City & County of Denver.

@weldcountysucks Tell me why he needed to park in the road at all. Even if he did, most people don't slam into full-sized vehicles in front of them. They do, however, run into bicyclists to the side when they have to VEER INTO TRAFFIC to avoid obstacles in their way.

Also dude, there's this thing called a paragraph, and this thing called a sentence, and this stuff called punctuation. I stopped reading your WALL O' TEXT in the middle because it was too cumbersome to decipher.

@Cognitive_Dissident I dont see how my comments in any way say I dont care or cant think of the consecuenses of someone parking where they shouldnt I just see the reasoning why some of these people have to.

@Cognitive_Dissident @weldcountysucks Ok so what if that city worker parked in the road cause he didnt want to upset the bikers and a car came along and slammed into the back of it heres my reasoning in the city its alot harder for people in cars to avoid people parked in the road compared to a biker and a car in a bike lane theres always the sidewalk so no they arent forced into traffic yeah there are those assholes that use that lane in ways unintended but sometimes there is no other choice for those people to be there for instance my roomate works for a cattering company sometimes they have to carry huge cakes and platers in to a building they have no choice but to use that lane.

@weldcountysucks Guess that explains your inability to think or care about what happens when you provide a lane that's supposed to be safe from traffic, tell people to ride there for their own safety, then park a government vehicle in it, forcing the riders to veer into traffic to avoid running into that vehicle.
