So when I get popped 2 days after smoking I will be collecting the fines and fees from all 64 supporters asses. Funny before "legal" weed I never worried about a pot DUI. Westminster has joined the list of Colorado communities that are preempting the work of the state's Amendment 64 task force by outlawing recreational pot shops now.

The Westminster City Council on Monday voted 7-0 to ban marijuana retail stores, commercial cultivation and manufacturing facilities within city limits. The emergency ordinance went into effect immediately, city spokesman Joe Reid said.

Westminster already prohibits medical marijuana dispensaries and cultivation facilities, a ban that was approved in July 2010 after two dispensaries set up shop in the city in 2009, Reid said.

Greenwood Village City Council voted to ban use, possession and transportation of marijuana on city property. That is not so unusual, as numerous cities and counties have restricted marijuana after the passage of Amendment 64.

Here's the catch, though: The Greenwood Village ordinance defines city property to include all the public streets and sidewalks in the city. That makes it illegal even to drive through the city with an otherwise legal amount of marijuana in the car.

the people on the Task Force used an incredible amount of time talking about what they were going to talk about and never even got around to talking about much of it. The final recommendation is: LET"S ALL GET HIGH AND HAVE FUN!

These are simply recommendations. It's not surprising at all that the extreme "anti" factions are gonna be floating some really BAD ones. Nothing has been passed yet, so now is the time to weigh in with your opinions. (And doing on an internet message board doesn't count!)

I'm not sure how an all-out marketing ban could EVER work; Constitutionally or practically! First-and-foremost there are huge and obvious free-speech implications. Also, the medical dispensaries' continued ability to advertise would render the whole thing moot. Leave it to idiot politicians to believe that they could police the internet too...

Thank you A64 and the Wasteword for making it very clear what people were voting for by calling it the Regulation of Marijuana Like Alcohol Act and saying it´s totally leaglization.

Becasue no one ever said that calling it regulation in a manner simillar to alcohol or legalization would be confusing and MISLEADING to the public.

If that was the case you shure would look like a bunch of lying asses to a lot of people. But do not fret becasue this is totally legalization.

I hear they are going to get E-warrants for roadside blood draws of drivers suspected of being under the influence of marijuana. @JimTom Ok, perhaps you've missed econ 101 where they talked about supply and demand. How, exactly, is A64 supposed to drive up the cost? Check craigslist to verify the current price of one pound of wholesale marijuana is less than $2000 ($15/eighth).

This really isn't legalization at all! Putting off industrial hemp until 2014! WTF? Ask the Feds to allow drug dollars (double WTF?).
