Clifford Fordyce added Facebook friend Heather Hurd day before allegedly killing her (58)

Update: The Denver coroner's office has identified the woman murdered Friday night on Pearl Street as Heather Hurd, a 44 year old from Littleton.

One connection between Hurd and Clifford Fordyce, the man accused of killing her: They were friends on Facebook -- an online relationship that hadn't been going on for long.

There aren't many signs of activity on Fordyce's page, at least for the average person. However, the latest entry, dated January 10, reads: "Cliff is now friends with Heather Hurd and 3 other people."

January 10 was the day before Hurd was killed by what a coroner's release describes as a "gunshot wound to the head."

The Denver Post describes Fordyce, forty, as an unemployed welder with a lengthy criminal record. He was imprisoned on one occasion for burglary and assault, and on another following a conviction for neglecting an at-risk adult -- and he was due in court next month on charges from November related to alleged threats and extortion. Other beefs involved weapons and drugs.

Hurd's record wasn't clean, either. Over the years, she'd been busted for drug possession and burglary, plus drunk driving and other traffic-related matters.

Regarding Fordyce's arrest for Hurd's slaying, the Post cites a witness mentioned in a probable cause statement who told cops he saw the suspect run from the apartment and ask him to call 911 shortly after sounds of arguing and three gunshots.

When Fordyce was taken to police HQ, he's said to have had blood on his socks and pants. He remains in custody at this writing, on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Continue for our previous coverage, including a graphic showing the area near the crime scene.

Heather had her problems, but was still a bright, beautiful light in the lives of her real friends; she will be sorely missed, and Damn the man who thought this was the way he should end any type of disagreement with her.

I find it highly coincidental that this occured 20 years to the day that a former boyfriend committed suicide.  In any case, I think it's a tragedy and she will be missed by many.

¨ The details shared thus far by the Denver Police Department are basic in the extreme.¨

Just printing police say with no investigation?  Good job that could not be considered propaganda.

¨At this writing, we don't know the name of the victim.¨¨

Because you are a propagandist and the government has not given it to you yet.  Just be a good little propagandist and you will get the name soon or do real journilism.  But the later would be too hard for you and the Westword.

@god477 You don't know what happened and he is not that type of man. God my ass, judgemental prick... you're a tool too. You assume he's some monster and he's not.

@bongsucker Obviously you're some proud stupid stoner who has no connection to family your or otherwise. Please take a moment, hit your bong and think about ALL of the people invalved with this. Her family and friend (because she did have them) and His family and friends because he does have us. People sometimes choose the no good path and for that they get these lables like "junkie" and "tweeker" or "stupid stoner" (as most are not too bright after years of oiling their brains and playing video games. I will assume that you are one of those, who are a do nothing and find no harm in it. You're a douche. Learn some understanding and maybe some repect for people other than the hot chick at the Dispo that flirts you up to take your cash you fucking TOOL.

@bongsucker  Really? bongsucker? Nice handle, it surely puts you in a lovely position of being so judgmental. A junkie is a worthless junkie- period- just sayin'! Secondly- I am pretty sure the saying goes "innocent until proven guilty".

@varucahsalt @god477 get your gender referral straight; I am not a "prick", nor do I have one. He has been charged with first degree murder, but I wouldn't give him the title of "monster", would just say he's obviously not man enough to impress anyone. If he impresses -you- as a "man", doesn't say much in your favor, does it? I mean, he's an ex-con, he knows he's not to be anywhere near firearms, but he had them, anyway..and he blew up my friends head with one of those firearms, oops, that's another violation, while he's waiting to be tried on yet another case with violent tones...put it this way: 1 apartment, 2 people, 1 ends up dead, the other isn't talking...what does that indicate? Wake up, honey, he's a loser.

Before spelling is brought into play, yes, I am aware of the poor spelling and bad grammar but in this forum I can honestly say I give to fawkes...

@god477 @varucahsalt  You are a shining star, a pillar of knowledge and a useless tool. You're buddy could have killed herself as she was not the most...sober, of people. You, can throw stones all you'd like. Keep on keeping on. If winning a spelling B in an open forum is your goal in life hooray for you. The topic at hand is not me or my spelling or my self acceptance, it's two people who ended up in bad situations. Not you and your godly twat so switch off and find someone else to Marme for you lovely being of whatever it is you are....

@varucahsalt absolutely amused at the manner in which you defend your ignorance of basic education skills....you're not saying much in your own favor here.
