Reader: Countries around the world recognize marijuana's medical benefits, so why not U.S.?

William Breathes's post about a federal court that rejected current evidence of marijuana's medical benefits brought a strong response from one of our readers.

His post contrasts American policy on this issue to that of other places around the globe.

Monkey writes:

When a government lists plant life as one of the most dangerous substances, how can you trust that government? Canada, Holland and Israel governments all allow cannabis use for medical reasons, Israel is even contemplating selling the herb in pharmacies next year. And we still call America a world leader.... Leaders in suppressing our own people.
