That is absolutely not freedom of speech and anyone who is dumb enough to think it is, needs to take a civics class! It was meant as a way thoughtfully criticize the government without persecution, it does not cover hateful or abusive language. Throw the red neck in jail.

When America, ask any American Indian, was invaded (discovered) the Constitution was started where 'only white men' voted in a system they imported to this land. In school I was taught, they wanted to get away from their culture in England. Instead, with educated hindsight, they were setting up the beginning of organized crime to America. The atmosphere for the 2nd Amendment was formed because America was being formed thru greed and fraud--and guns to keep their greed and fraud! Now America is afraid of losing their guns. Wouldn't it be nice for 'the people' of America to send all those guns to England, Egypt, Iraq, Israel, Syria etc. and tell them to just go ahead and kill themselves since history says it is in their nature to do so. To own a gun in America would be dealing with realists 'the people'. Where a death is involved due to a gun, the villian will never be allowed to possess a gun and make restitution to the victims family forever thereafter. Gun manufactures would share that liability, even if they left the country to continue to produce and import or smuggle guns into this country. A law 'by the people', Not To Exclude, cops, prosecutors, judges, politicians, lawyers, bankers, priests, sports figures, etc..I have a website, petition, and a U-Tube video to share entitiled "Help me buy justice." Pass it on.

Sure, the guy sounds crazy, but so does she. I wonder if she checked the magazines of the armed people protecting her house after the threat. I bet they had magazines over 10 and 15 rounds. She might be a hypocrite, but no one deserves death threats. Unfortunately, banning standard magazines wont stop death threats either.

Another fine example of a "responsible" gun owner at work. Doin' a "heckuva job" fighting that "gubmint tyranny."

I know we're supposed to presume someone innocent before they are tried. Having said that, if this man is guilty of sending these messages, I hope he is convicted to the fullest extent of the law which, one of my friend's pointed out, would result in a felony charge and his second amendment rights being taken away.

Reasonable discourse in America is mostly dead. Too bad that gun owners who can make logical, rational arguments are so often overshadowed by the nutcases.

Not only was it threatening, but it was also hate speech. Also, not covered by the 1st Amendment. He was encouraging others to take violent action by others against this African-American woman, and included the race as part of his hatred. It's really sad and indicative of the racism and hatred people still have. Certainly it was spurred by another topic, but you can't deny the bigoted speech included in the rants.

Death threats are not covered by the 1A. It is not free speech.

i disagree with ms,field,s and i made my point clear to her..but like i told her you have your opinion and i have mine.no hard filling.@andrew your right your point get,s lost in the curseing and racial name calling..the thing i noticed was .ms fields is against gun,s.).she sas it gun violence but we know what,s going on.the goverment want,s our gun,s and these little measures are just the beginning..).but she,s has a measure against gun,s yet when she,s treatened whay the 1st thing that happens..she give security by men with gun,s..she,s doesn.t have anything to say about gun,s when it,s to protect her...which is the only thing we want to be able to PROTECT ourselves..

Who writes these "questions?" You actually have to ask your readers if these are threats or free speech? What would you call it if someone delivered a letter to your home filled with racial slurs and references to killing you? Please take a moment and think about the impact of what you post here.

It's a tough one, sorta like yelling fire in a crowded theater. The man is just an idiot if no one gets hurt. it's quite another thing if someone acts on his words. Where do you draw the line? I say let people like him talk and let others around them condemn them for their idiotic outbursts. I think if the rep wants to make a complaint that she's genuinely frightened and feels unsafe, that is her right. The police should then deal with that issue accordingly.

So much for civil discourse. If you can't make a point without threats and vulgar language, you don't really have a point to make.

i was arrested for threats when i ask police to arrest wyoming judge to be arrested when they said no i said i would arrest him that was a threat... the judge is on the bench i havent seen my kids he removed evidence and help cover the false imprisonment drugged and beat my kid yet i dont get to see them so depends on whats said.

He was wrong and she's a fucking moron. Simple.

It's threatening and free speech. He's free to make that speech, but he's going to have to pay the consequences of having it be threatening speech.

Those are threats he threatened to kill her and her daughter. And I applied as a network admin for that company glad I didn't accept the position. What a nut job.
