Marijuana: Legal Chronic Delivery's free-weed-but-$50-for-a-bumper-sticker deal disappears
Update: Bad news for those of you intrigued by Legal Chronic Delivery, which offered free marijuana with the purchase of a $50 "'I ♥ Colorado" bumper sticker.![]()
The website vanished some time after our LCD post was published.
Apparently, the folks behind the concept didn't want to test the multiple online claims that the service was totally legit thanks to the passage of Amendment 64. But at least we managed to preserve a copy of that bumper sticker -- and you tech wizards can probably figure out a way to make your own for free.
Just like the chronic used to be. See our previous coverage below.
Original post, 4:20 p.m. February 5: Yesterday, we wrote about Craigslist ads offering free marijuana, usually in exchange for a donation or as a bonus for the purchase of other items. But we've now discovered a website taking this concept even further -- providing pot without cost, but only if a customer buys a $50 bumper sticker promoting marijuana legalization.
The idea behind such deals? While a governor's task force continues to assemble recommendations for the full implementation of Amendment 64, the measure has already been signed into law. As such, the possession of cannabis in small amounts by adults 21 and over is already legal -- just not its sale.
This last apparent obstacle hasn't stopped ganjapreneurs. Take 4 Strains Pipe & Tobacco, which is offering a two gram bag of free nuggets to any of-age customer who purchases $30 worth of smoking accessories or the like from its head shop.![]()
The Legal Chronic Delivery service-area map looks rather nugget-like, doesn't it? (Click to enlarge.)
Which brings us to LegalChronicDelivery.com, whose home page asks, "Weed Delivered?" Yep: "Buy a 'I ♥ Colorado' bumper sticker to show your support for legal cannabis and we throw in a free sack of chronic, wax or edible of your choice!"
The site poses several other natural questions, accompanied by the following answers:
Isn't it still illegal to sell weed? The site's order page reads, "Show Your Support: Buy 1 sticker, get a free eighth, buy 5 and get a free ounce!" In addition, it provides a look at the $50 bumper sticker. We do not "sell weed." We sell cannabis legalization support merchandise and gift you chronic when you purchase a bumper sticker to show your support of legal weed!
How is this legal?
In 2012 Coloradans overwhelmingly voted to amend our state constitution to allow anyone 21 or over in Colorado to posses up to an ounce, and to consume cannabis in private.
Why can't I just buy it in a store?
The state legislature will not be finished with the rules and regulations of selling cannabis in stores until Jan 2014. Then it is likely the medical only dispensaries will be opened to the public. Till then, just call us!
Continue to see the sticker, as well as the website's gift menu of marijuana strains.
