True, some parts of California get snow. But in SoCal particularly, drivers tend to keep the pedal to the metal whether the pavement's wet or dry, with often disastrous results. Add to that a certain motoring sense of entitlement and you've got a recipe for disaster.

Plenty of Hawaiians have never seen snow, and they're apt to be fascinated by it, watching the falling ice crystals with the innocence of a child. But it's hard to appreciate the wonder-filled expression on a person's face when he's t-boning you.
