420 Extravaganja party announced for 4/20 weekend

The 4/20 weekend this year is shaping up to be a massive, city-wide event. Not only is the traditional 4/20 political rally again taking at Denver's Civic Center Park, but the crew from High Times has claimed the Mile High as their city of choice for the first-ever Cannabis Cup on American soil.

And now, we've learned of another major pot party from the folks at Boulder-based Incredibowl: The 420 Extravaganga has been announced for April 19 at the Hoodlab, 3354 Larimer Street in Denver.

This is the second year that Incredibowl has sponsored an event over the hempy weekend. Last year's party at City Hall was a hazy, reggae-filled evening. This year takes things in a different, more urban direction with music from world-renowned producer DJ Premier, who has shared his is sample-heavy, old-school New York feel with nearly everyone in hip hop, including Notorious B.I.G, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, KRS-One, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Jay Z.

The event will also feature live painting from New York-based artist Justin Bua. While you might not know his name, you more than likely have seen his urban-influenced artwork in all sorts of places, from dispensaries to hotel lobbies.

"Now that Colorado has legalized marijuana in an historic vote, DJ Premier and Justin Bua will be performing live in Denver this April to commemorate and immortalize the historic first post-marijuana prohibition 4/20 holiday in American history," says promoter Mitch Shanessa in a press release..

Tickets for the private event are on sale at the Incredibowl site. General admission tickets are selling for $20 through tonight, and then the price jumps to $25. There's also a $420 VIP package being offered that includes a VIP smoke session, free stuff from Incredibowl and a limo ride to the venue, where big spenders will eat dinner with the artists and musicians taking part in the event.

They couldn't afford to have music this year?

"...sample-heavy, old-school New York feel with nearly everyone in hip hop, including Notorious B.I.G, Snoop Dogg, Bun B, KRS-One, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Jay Z."

Yeah,.....Rap.  The "C" is silent. Good reason to stay the hell away.

"who has shared his is [sic] sample-heavy"

So sad.

"Now that Colorado has legalized marijuana in an historic vote,"

A64 did NOT legalize marijuana, not even close.

A64 = a continuation of criminal prohibition against marijuana users and growers in Colorado

@DonkeyHotay = a continuation of whining and crying over the death of prohibition

@DonkeyHotay Here I thought you were going to make a big deal about them claiming pot has been legalized--which would make it pretty interesting if the cops did decide to show up and bust everyone for openly and publicly enjoying the substance.

A64 did NOT repeal a SINGLE Criminal Statute.

Yes that is true, but we are harping on A64 today rather than A20 et al, and the reference is to rec rather than med use.

But we shall nonetheless amend:

NO doctors note pre-64, growing 6 plants for rec use AT ALL = FELONY, THE SKY IS FALLING, etc...

Post-64 = Yay we are in the clear for six! WOOT WOOT!

@DonkeyHotoy @DonkeyHotay Actually, that's wrong. Having a doctor's note qualified one (still does, w/o regard to A64) to grow six plants (or, as many as the doctor says you need.) The red card gets you into dispensaries.

@DonkeyHotay

Growing 6 plants without a red card pre-64 = FELONY Crime, Hard time, Big fine, forfeit your house, car, kids, career, all your money, assets, and possessions

Growing 6 plants without a red card post-64 = NO crime, NO time, NO fine, NO forfeiture.

Yeah, A64 is a real continuation of prohibition, alright! In my twisted addled mind!

@DonkeyHotay= a continuation of the same copy-pasta'd distortions, misrepresentations, and outright lies he posts to every page of this blog.

A64 didn't need to REPEAL any laws. It SUPERSEDES them.

Fucking idiot.
